HCG Diet: 500-1,000 Calories A Day

I personally know 3 people who have tried and raved about the HCG Diet, each of them losing a considerable amount of weight in a short time (one friend lost 20 pounds in 2 months).

Keeping all my thoughts about the diet to the side, the diet, a very low calorie diet, works like this:

Days 1 and 2 of the HCG Diet: Phase 1 starts. Start taking HCG Drops, no diet restrictions. Diet suggests to eat excessive amounts of fat to kick start the diet — bacon, sausage, eggs, pizza, etc.

Day 3 of the HCG Diet: Phase 2 starts. Continue taking HCG drops for 23-45 days, until you meet your goal weight. Maintain 500 calorie diet during this time and for 72 hours after your last dose of HCG.

Weeks 3-6 of HCG Diet: Phase 3 starts. “Weight must NOT vary more than 2 pounds over/under your weight on the last day of dosing. After 3-6 weeks, very gradually add starch in small quantities, always controlled by morning weighing. Add until weight remains stable.”

Along with a 500 calorie a day diet, you are supposed to take 6 HCG drops 6 times a day.
